Terms of Service

Last updated: May 26, 2026. These terms apply to gainstaging.com and the gainstaging teardown archive, reader accounts, comments, and related editorial tools.

1. What gainstaging is

gainstaging is an independent editorial website focused on professional audio hardware teardown reviews, circuit and layout observations, service notes, specification context, and reader discussion. The site is for information, research, and technical commentary. It is not manufacturer documentation, repair certification, electrical safety training, or a substitute for qualified service work.

2. Accounts

Public accounts may be used to comment, reply, like or dislike comments, and participate in discussion. Editorial and administrator accounts may create, edit, publish, moderate, or delete teardown files and site content. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account.

3. Reader comments and conduct

Comments should stay relevant to professional audio equipment, teardown evidence, repair experience, studio use, measurements, or source material. Do not post unlawful, abusive, harassing, deceptive, spam, malicious, confidential, or rights-infringing content. Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a manufacturer, distributor, repair shop, publication, or brand.

4. Moderation

gainstaging may hide, edit, reject, remove, or preserve comments and accounts when needed to protect the site, keep technical discussion useful, respond to legal requests, or enforce these terms. Moderation decisions may be made without prior notice.

5. Editorial content and sources

Articles may include original teardown photography, measurements, editorial notes, manufacturer specifications, public-source images, public documentation, community observations, and links to external sources. Public-source material should be credited where practical. If you believe content on the site infringes your rights or is incorrectly attributed, contact gainstaging with the relevant URL, ownership details, and the requested action.

6. No guarantee of accuracy or safety

gainstaging tries to separate observed hardware facts from interpretation, but articles and comments may contain errors, incomplete information, outdated specifications, or opinions. Opening professional audio equipment can expose hazardous voltages, stored charge, sharp metal, heat, and other risks. Do not rely on the site as your only source for repair, modification, safety, purchasing, or engineering decisions.

7. Your content

If you post a comment or submit material, you keep any rights you already have, but you give gainstaging a non-exclusive permission to display, store, reproduce, format, moderate, and distribute that content as part of the site and related editorial archives. You should only submit material you have the right to share.

8. Intellectual property

The gainstaging name, site design, original articles, original photographs, structure, and editorial material belong to gainstaging or its contributors unless otherwise stated. You may link to the site and quote short excerpts with attribution, but you may not scrape, republish, sell, or bulk-copy the archive without permission.

9. Availability and changes

The site may change, pause, remove features, or become unavailable at any time. gainstaging may update these terms as the site adds account features, accepts submissions, or changes hosting, analytics, moderation, or storage systems.

10. Contact

For account, moderation, attribution, removal, privacy, or terms questions, contact gainstaging at contact@gainstaging.com.
